Saxenda® 6 mg/mL is a prescription medication used for weight management, often sold in packs containing 3 pre-filled, multi-dose pens (syringes). This Italian or European packaging contains a solution for subcutaneous injection.
Product Description (Italian/European Formulation)
Active Ingredient: Liraglutide 6 mg/mL. Each 3 mL pre-filled pen contains 18 mg of liraglutide.
Presentation: A box containing 3 pre-filled, multi-dose injection pens.
Physical Form: Clear and colourless (or almost colourless) solution.
Mechanism: It mimics a natural hormone (GLP-1) that regulates appetite, making you feel full longer.
Doses Delivered: The pen is designed to deliver doses of 0.6 mg, 1.2 mg, 1.8 mg, 2.4 mg, or 3.0 mg.
Needles: The pack usually does not include needles (needles need to be purchased separately, compatible with Novo Nordisk pens).
Indications and Usage
Weight Management: Used in addition to a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity for adults with a BMI of 30 kg/m² or higher (obesity), or 27-30 kg/m² (overweight) with weight-related health problems (e.g., hypertension, type 2 diabetes).
Adolescents: Can be used in adolescents aged 12 and older with obesity and weight above 60 kg.
Storage
Before use: Store in a refrigerator (2°C to 8°C).
During use: Once a pen is in use, it can be kept at room temperature (below 30°C) for up to 30 days.
Do not freeze.

Important Safety Information
Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, and headache.
Contraindicated if you have a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC).
Do not use with other GLP-1 receptor agonists (e.g., Ozempic, Victoza).
